Our Company History
SaunaFX saw its beginnings in 1948 when Bernard Garber began providing installation and plumbing services for Southern California residents. By 1985, the company had grown to include installation and repair of dry and steam saunas for clients throughout San Diego, adjacent counties and beyond.
SaunaFX has continued to grow, becoming a leading expert in saunas as well as electric steam boilers and is one of the top representatives for major sauna brands in the area, offering comprehensive manufacturer warranty services.
SaunaFX provides service for all major manufacturers and suppliers of sauna and steam materials throughout the country. We are often called upon by manufacturers of sauna and steam equipment to act as an expert in the field.
Steve Garber
CEO / Founder
Steve has over 30 years of experience in the field and has worked to become the leading local expert in saunas and electric boilers in Southern California.
Founder and CEO Steve Garber has been the face of the family business since 1985 and, in 2003 the company began to work specifically in the sauna business. Steve provides the highest quality relaxation experience to his sauna clients not only because he has dedicated himself to an in-depth understanding of saunas mechanically, but also by way of maintaining a life-long practice dedicated to the arts of Aikido and Zen meditation. These aesthetics and sensibilities are reflected in the care and attention to detail Steve gives every job and his devotion to client satisfaction. He works closely with his team to provide high quality steam, sauna and plumbing, helping to provide the same relaxation mindset that arises from practicing these ancient Japanese arts.
Steve earned a BA in Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, a Master’s in Peace Studies from University of San Diego and regularly uses the problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills learned from his studies and training in his business.
